Sunil M was born on 24 December, 1983 in Karnataka. He completed his BFA (Painting) from MMK College of Art & Crafts, Gulbarga in 2004, and MFA (Painting) from S N School, Hyderabad Central University in 2007.

‘Labyrinth’ was his first solo at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad in 2008. Sunil has also exhibited in select platforms such as at Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai presented by Art Land India, Mumbai (2011); Crimson Art Gallery, Bangalore (2011); Alliance Francaise, Bangalore (2010); ‘Self & the city’, a traveling group show at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, Maya Art Gallery, Bangalore and Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2010; ‘Po10tial’, Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2009), ‘Art in Objects’, Daira Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2009); ‘Mixed Bag’, CKP, Bangalore (2008); Bodhi Art Gallery, Mumbai (2007); ‘Urban smiles’ project 88, Mumbai (2007). Most recently, Sunil was represented by Kalakriti at the gallery booth at India Art Fair 2012, New Delhi. His works were also featured in Art Expo 2009 & 10 in Mumbai, also represented by Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad.

In 2007, Sunil won the Bodhi Art Award, Mumbai; and National Scholarship, New Delhi during 2005-2007.
