Shrikant W Kolhe

Shrikant Kolhe's works are influenced by the immediate surroundings of his interior. His works mainly use monochrome colours. He uses light very delicately in his works. His forte is skilful handling of the subject and a very unconventional angle of seeing the interior. He uses a dice in his works. He generally uses limited objects and shows them from various angles. The empty chair, table scattered with newspapers, books, a pen etc. shows the presence of someone in the room. Shrikant says, "Every creation or Uttpatti is incomplete without Light. This relationship between Uttpatti and Light has become the basis of my work" . His paintings are unique in the sense that even though there are no human images in them, but they give a strong sense of presence of someone human.
