“My works are quite based on my personal and private life. I constantly search for a space out of the tight boundaries of institutions and traditions engulfing in my mind, to practice freedom. The boundary around me never accepts me as an individual”, says the Artist.

Sajal Kaity wants to break out the boundary to declare his identity. A man is generally identified by his social, political, economic, cultural and geographical surroundings. So he has taken different identification marks and used them as images in his paintings. He has very creatively used enlarged fingerprints in his paintings. His medium is mostly acrylic on canvas; he has used drawings in some of his works and has sometimes transferred images onto his canvas through different ways. Mostly he has used the silk screen method and tracing to create his works, because of his want to keep the identification marks perfect. He juxtaposes two different processes into one, with perfection. One is the mechanical process and other is the manual process. The later, he rightly says, retains his true identity.
