Maredu Ramu

Maredu Ramu’s paintings give lasting glimpses of Urban India. On one hand, we see the tradition and on the other hand we see modernization growing in it. The whole transition of the thought, the physical changes and the architectural changes of an urban setting can be seen on his canvases. He traces these changes by showing the constructions, the concrete developments and the advertisement hoardings. He has also taken reference from Traditional Indian Paintings & different magazines for the hoardings. He has beautifully portrayed traditional & modern figures in a single frame. He has a very realistic approach and has composed his thoughts very intelligently. For instance, he has marvelously used the beautiful sky, half constructions and half hoardings in one frame.

Born in 1984, in Andhra Pradesh, he has completed his BFA from S V College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad in 2008; & MFA from S N School, University of Hyderabad in 2010.
