Jagannath Paul is famous for his skillful rendering of the female forms with charcoals and acrylics on canvas. He paints human figures and portraits. He creates an interaction with other elements in his paintings. His works are examples of very stylized portraits, with stylized forms in the background, like flowers and floral patterns. There is a whole lot of play of light and dark. He creates very elegant, elongated and cubic portraits. Eyes are often closed, expressions resemble thinking and feeling the atmosphere, which shows calmness and peace. His paintings are mostly bright and vibrant. He often uses contrast colors. His palette is restricted to reds, yellows, greens and oranges. His paintings are often dominated by black. He paints both single and group portraits.
