
Hari Prasad was born on February 18, 1970, in Allagadda, a small town in Kurnool District in Andhra Pradesh. He learnt stone carving and traditional sculpture from his father during 1983 – 86, completed his BFA in Sculpture at Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam in 2000, and a short term course in Glass Kiln casting and fusing at Glass Furnace Foundation, Istanbul, Turkey in 2006. His major solo shows include ‘Uncensored’ at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, in 2006; and ‘Poetry in stone’ at Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, in 2006. He actively participated in group shows, prominent being the India Art Fair, New Delhi presented by Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad, 2012; charity show at Mumbai by Le Sutra, 2011; ‘Big Picture’ presented by Tasveer House at Sumukha Art Gallery, Bangalore, 2011; ‘Marvelous Reality’ at Gallery Espace, New Delhi, 2009; Harmony Art Show, Mumbai, 2007; ‘Mapping the South’ in Dubai, presented by Vinnyasa Premier Art Gallery, in 2005 & 07, Kalakriti Art Gallery, 2006; ‘ARTiade’, Olympics of Visual Arts, Athens, Greece, 2003; 5th AAW Show, Birla Academy of Art, Mumbai, 2001, amongst others.
In 1998, he won the Lalit Kala Academy Award; and the Junior Fellowship, Dept. of Culture from the Government of India, during 2000 – 01, including many other prestigious awards. Hari Prasad’s works are in collection with the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; Harmony Art Foundation, Mumbai; AP Tourism Development Corporation; Times of India, Mumbai, and with many art lovers in India & abroad.
