Girish Kulkarni was born on 19 May, 1977, is graduated from the MMK College of Fine Arts, Gulbarga. He has won several awards for his works like Lokmanya Tilak Award, Pune during 2005-07; the Annual Exhibitions at MMK College of Visual Art, Gulbarga, 2001,02,03,04; among others. He has done several solo shows, and his works have been part of several group shows as well. The most recent of these include those held at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2010; Gallery with Difference, Kolkata, in 2009; Maya Art Gallery, Bangalore, in 2008 & 10; Vernayaga - Muskat, UAE, 2008; Bombay Art Society, also in 2008; and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, Bangalore, in 2007.

His works are in collections with several art lovers in India and abroad.
