Devajyoti Ray Arts

Devajyoti Ray, born in 1974, is one of the young masters of Indian Art. He says his works are attached to Pseudorealism.

“The world that we see is pseudoreal. The real world is today no more real than the cyber-reality, lets say, for many. The future generations have to reckon with this”, says Ray. Devajyoti has created a new style of visual artistry in which he skillfully creates a pseudo-balance between offbeat colours and innovative shapes. His style marks a new phase of Art in India, a post-liberalization phase. His works are independent of the influence of the regular art school styles. The result is a deliberately flat and unconventional use of colours and shapes; figuratives, works on everyday subjects. He uses minimum colours, reminds us of fauvism. The colours he uses divides space very efficiently.
