Anand Bekwad was born in 1975 in Belgaum in Northern Karnataka. He finished a Diploma in Drawing and Painting from Belgaum in 2000.

Anand, known for his landscapes has exhibited widely in shows and galleries across India. His major solo shows were held in Shrishti Art Gallery, Hyderabad; Nehru Centre, Mumbai; Chitramayee State Art Gallery, Hyderabad, and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore. His works were also featured in group shows in Kalakriti Art Gallery, ‘The Art Fusion’, Nehru Centre, Mumbai; Ganges Art Gallery, Bangalore; India Art Gallery, Pune; Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi Presented by Apparao Gallery; Daira Art Gallery, Hyderabad, and Bangalore International Art Festival, Bangalore. He has also participated in camps at Hyderabad, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Anand is the recipient of Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy Award, Bangalore; Mysore Dasara Award; Mysore; Annual Exhibition Award, Uma Fine Art Institution, Belgaum.
